10 Things We All Are Hating About Robots That Vacuum And Mop
Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and clean provide the convenience of cleaning both dry debris and wet messes in one time without the need to switch devices. They can also save space in comparison to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.
A good combination bot must have impressive navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models that have docks that let them automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks, and wash the mopping pads.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has plenty to offer at a affordable price, and it's among the easiest robots we've tested to install. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you up and running with a clean, full dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in no time.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops spin at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly take away pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a variety of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app that lets you choose the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.
You could, for instance, ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly, but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and smart navigation tech are superb, with the robot being able to detect tiny obstacles that other models struggle with. Its only minor issue is that it can crash into walls and objects at full speed. However, a quick glance at the cleaning history in the app will tell you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed and the obstacles it's avoided.
The docking station comes with a handy LCD screen that indicates when maintenance is needed for cleaning up debris and rinsing the water tank that is dirty. It also mixes detergent into the tank automatically, using a 600ml eufy solution.
Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop have plenty of run-time as well, with the mop being able to operate for 184 minutes in Quiet mode and the vacuum able to do 136 minutes in standard mode before needing to recharge or return to the base to replenish. You can view the complete cleaning details within the app, which is well laid out and easily understood however we would have liked to be able to distinguish between a vacuum and mop clean, when examining a cleaned area in the cleaning history.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's top robot mop and vacuum. The model this year has two agitators built into its mopping pad. This enhances the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra also has enhanced suction power, which allows it to pull up small hairs and other particles that other robotic cleaners may be unable to pick up.
As with the other two Roborock models I've tried the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology that helps it avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by adding a dual camera which can recognize objects and determine whether they are an object that is a wall or a different surface. It then can alter its path in a way that is automatic and clean around the objects, without missing a step.
It's the most expensive model I've tried however it also comes with the most features. Its sleek and angular design is striking and only has three physical buttons. The power button, which resumes the cleaning, a mop button that doubles up as a child-lock, and a home-button to take the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml trash bin and 200ml tank of water. The water tank automatically empties and the bin fills up automatically.
The only downside I found to this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount is not removable. While you can swap out the mopping cloth (if it's required), it's a pain to take off the mount for manual washing. I've observed that any soft carpet that the robot touches will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and can cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of intelligent features including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can set up and manage these via the Roborock app that is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also lets you to schedule cleanings, track battery life and component maintenance. However, you'll need to jump through a few hurdles to allow voice control with this model, which is a shame considering the quality of its performance.

There are a lot of options, including the option to schedule cleanings and change preferences. The app lets you make these settings or make use of the buttons on the device itself. The app is easy to use and offers many options to customize the cleaning process, and there are many features that other robots do not include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles, instead of using a manual setting.
